Loom | करघा
Ontario, Canada \ ओंटारियो, कनाडा
Built as a spatial loom by Lake Ontario, around one of the lifeguard stations, the art installation is experienced externally as a white box shrouded in snowfall. It’s mirrored side faces the lake, on a sandy beach, evoking a woven metaphor, the installation allows space and snow to fall through and through it, to the ground.
This juxtaposition of apparently contradicting entities: linear-curvaceous, rigid-fluid, order-chaos, and weaving them together, to synthesize through one wholesome re-combinatory play.
